You are like a good dream
The kind I don't want to wake up from
And now I'm awake the real world has lost some of its colour.
You are like my favourite chocolate bar
I crave you so much, even after the final segment is past my tongue
I want to savour your taste for an eternity.
You are like an old familiar song I hear on the radio
When it comes on I dance with joy
But I never know when I'll hear it again.
(Not this lifetime, but maybe the next.)
You are like a holiday
One that lasts for ages
But now the holiday's over.
Like reading an enthralling novel
But never wanting to get to the last page.
Your life was like an English Summer. I wish it had been longer.
